Having not heard or read the Obama Libya related speech, it would be unfair for Linden to comment on the merits (or lack thereof) of the speech. It was probably well read from the teleprompter.

Believing that you, gentle reader, should constantly attempt to expand your knowledge, Linden looked for sources within which you may be able to achieve this expansion. Rather than provide links, he is just listing a few of the rather large supply of sources.

LINDEN’S LIFE

Stopped by the church for a few minutes as I returned home from the post office. In the evening, Julie brought Jade by and we had a wonderful time. She brought dinner from Grays which, as always, was great and a DVD of an enjoyable movie. Playing with Jade and visiting with Julie was just unbeatable. I am so blest! Thank you God.

II JOHN

WRITERS BLOCK

CONTENTS Subjects of the day – Wednesday, Bible review Linden’s Life Other Stuff Your Comments ----- WRITER’S BLOCK Linden could have provided a few words addressing the reported return to work by the MIA Indiana democrats. He could even say a few words about his hope that none of them will ever hold elective office again. He also could have addressed the Libya related speech our President read on Monday night. But, since his speech writers often tell whoppers, it wasn’t worth listening to. Linden’s failure to address either of these possibilities may have been influenced by his reading of the vastly superior writing of Kyle-Anne Shiver in the two links provided below. HAS OBAMA BEEN BIDENIZED?

CONTENTS Subjects of the day – Wednesday, Bible review Linden’s Life Other Stuff Your Comments ----- HAS OBAMA BEEN BIDENIZED? Any follower of current events (when reported) is aware of the ability of our Vice President to say really foolish things. Perhaps the only actions more foolish is the record of Delaware voters in allowing him to feed at the public trough for years and years and years. Of course, when judging unmitigated foolish actions, those who voted for our current President will always be in the running for the really dense title. One of Linden’s least favorite newspaper columnists is Eugene Robinson. In his column which appeared in the Indianapolis Star on March 26 was this Obama quote, “We cannot stand idly by when a tyrant tells his people that there will be no mercy and… innocent men and women face brutality and death at the hands of their own government.” It is unlike Robinson to say anything even mildly critical of Obama. Linden believes that the column should have then gone to examples of Obama standing idly by…Sudan/Darfur comes to mind. Went to the post office then worked a bit on taxes. Some years ago, I made a foolish investment in a penny stock (one of several) called New Sky Productions. They made a movie called “Lady In White.” I watched some of it in the evening. Not much. Saturday: Brenda, Bob, Thuc, and I worked together before my retirement in 1996. I met them for a very pleasant lunch. Brenda now has cancer, Bob has been really sick lately, Thuc showed us a wonderful letter of recommendation his son, Long, had received from a Captain in the Navy Seals. Long has wanted to be part of that organization for quite some time. Sunday: attended church and Sunday school then went to brunch with friends. In the afternoon, attended a 90th birthday party for our pastor of long ago, Warren Robbins. It was very nice and I saw many people that I rarely see. Then, went to evening church services. ----- OTHER STUFF Primary March donation focus: local charity plus Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy http://www.fsma.org/ Feel free to make others aware of this blog and our efforts to support worthwhile political and social causes. ---- YOUR COMMENTS The comments link below has been disabled and anything that gets through by accident goes to spam. INDIANA POLITICS

Granted, Linden’s blog focus is usually on political items of some national significance but today, just a few words regarding our Hendricks County Lincoln Day Dinner of Thursday evening, March 24 2011.

Our County Chairman, Mike O’Brien, directed the events from the podium. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, prayer, and a very good dinner, Mike introduced our impressive 4th District Congressman, Todd Rokita, for a few well delivered words. Then, our Indiana Secretary of Education, Dr. Tony Bennett, introduced current 6th District Congressman and surely our next Governor, Mike Pence, for a short and sometimes either thoughtful or funny speech. He cut his speech short so the crowd could go home and watch the late telecast of the Butler basketball game. Butler won.

In addition to these, some of the other Republican luminaries I talked to a bit within the course of the evening were Richard Mourdock, who is running for the Senate seat, Pete Miller, our 4th District Chairman, activist Eric Miller and, of course, some others.
Even though I am much less active than I once was, there were still many present with whom I was once more closely associated. It was a good evening.

GAS HIGH ENOUGH FOR YOU YET?

Of course the answer to the question posed in the title, for all but a few, including our President, is a resounding YES! Unfortunately, many of those who supported this incompetent were not listening to his messages.

U.S. oil production is in a world of hurt as are all those who were employed in the industry…all primarily thanks to Obama. What responsible patriotic U.S. citizen would have assisted George Soros by helping to fund the drilling off the coast of Brazil. The answer is, NONE! Obama did. Also, tapping into our strategic oil reserves is a very bad idea, for now.

Last question: would Sarah Palin support the Brazilian oil drilling effort? You know the answer.

The highest point of the daytime hours was receiving a note from Ireland that may be of some help in putting together my hoped for study trip in the fall. Hope so. Much more work and thought to accomplish in this area. In the evening, had dinner at church which was followed by the last of our church planting discussions. Bill and Barbara brought me some sweet buns and Carl managed to find me some desserts to take home.

Back home, watched the movie “Rawhide” starring Susan Hayward, Tyrone Power, and my favorite western actor Jack Elam. I first saw this movie at an auxiliary Air Force base in Alaska in 1953. Jack was a crazy prison escapee and Susan was just lovely. My all time favorite movie!

WISCONSIN LAW STILL UNDECIDED

Since Linden last wrote regarding this subject, a judge in Wisconsin decided in favor of the group that is opposed to Governor Scott Walker’s approach to making the state come closer to living within it’s means. Where it will go from here is uncertain.

Meanwhile, for those who favor the approach in the bill that was passed by the legislature and signed into law by Walker, would not now be a time favorable to attempting to discover ways to remove the judge from office?

ARE PUBLIC UNIONS DESIRABLE?

If you are a frequent reader of this blog, you have to know that Linden believes the correct answer to the above question is…NO. Probably one of the best examples of why this answer is correct is depicted in the first link below. When it is permissible for those who have a sworn duty to perform a certain function to decide that their allegiance to the union to which they belong is more important than fulfilling their obligations, it can not work to the benefit of the taxpaying public…the ones they are supposed to serve.

ARE YOU A SUCKER?

While listening to the radio, Linden heard that some poll (probably biased and not soundly constructed) had found that roughly 20% of those polled were strongly opposed to Sarah Palin becoming President.

Starting even before the Presidential election of 2008 the lamestream media embarked on a “get Sarah Palin” mission. Their mission has remained evident to this day. Had they presented the truth (as responsible journalists should do), Linden believes that they would have reported that Palin had stronger executive experience than Obama, Biden, and McCain. She was the lone actual shining star of this campaign. It is possible that she can not read a teleprompter as well as Obama but Linden believes that she is vastly superior to him in speaking, analytical, and writing capabilities. Read the link to her writing and thinking abilities as shown in the gas pricing link below.

So the question for you should remain: “am I one of the suckers who fell for a media driven advertising campaign?”

RECALLS AND IMPEACHMENTS

Since it is Linden’s strong belief that officeholders take an oath of office that ties them to service in the office to which they have been elected, he considers the current crop of fleebaggers to be liars and not worthy of the office to which they were elected. Linden also has a rather low opinion of the judgment of those who support the current crop of disgraces.

It was with some pleasure that recent news included the possibility that eight democrats may face recall efforts in Wisconsin and that the subject of impeachment of the missing Indiana democrats has been mentioned. We can only hope.

ADVICE FOR WISC. GOV. WALKER

Granted, most of the news coming out of Wisconsin in recent weeks has been anything but good and the actions of some of the protesters were disgusting, at best. But, at least the 1500 school teachers who were scheduled to lose their jobs should now be happy. The apparent end result is that their jobs were saved.

If this is true, Linden would suggest that the Governor attempt to identify these 1500 teachers and ask them to consider getting busy in an effort to recall those democrats who fled the state rather than fulfilling their elected responsibilities. Just a thought!

WISCONSIN LEADERSHIP

The first results of the Tea Party movement became evident in November with the defeat at the polls of many liberal politicians. Now, the continuation of the movement is most noticeable in Madison, Wisconsin by those who fear that they will be adversely affected by this movement to reduce the cost of government. The movement is continuing in other states, including Indiana.

So far, the most noticeable result has been the accumulation of trash and the trashy attitude of those involved in the protest. Are all liberals trashy? Certainly Linden believes that Michael Moore and Jesse Jackson are well suited to be part of that group.

On the bright side, a group of the area Tea Party groups have indicated a willingness to clean up after these blights on society.

LINDEN JUDGES SARAH

Having read a large number of her writings, and having listened to a large number of her addresses, and having reviewed her accomplishments in Alaskan, and other, leadership positions, Linden has no trouble whatsoever judging those attacks on her intelligence and ability as being anything other than a political effort to besmirch her name. We would be blessed if the man now occupying (sometimes) the White House were so competent.

Linden doubts that Sarah Palin will be a Presidential candidate but does believe that she has the ability and character to be an above average President. Our loss if she does not run and win!

The computer was balky on Wednesday. I did make some progress on the S-Corp tax preparation. Went to the post office and picked up the home delivered mail and received nothing of value. In the evening, had dinner and attended a program at church.

I PETER

This short letter may have been written in either Babylon or in Rome, probably shortly after the martyrdom of Paul. It was written to some of the churches that Paul had founded and was written with the intent of strengthening Christian belief.

Subject sequence is: greeting; praise to God for providing Jesus Christ as our savior; advice to be holy; personal conduct; suffering in the cause of Christ will lead to glory; and the conclusion.

LINDEN’S LIFE

Dropped off my recyclables, went to the post office, by the church, to the credit union, and got a haircut. Had a political conversation or two. A group from church, including Paul and Judy, left on a trip to the Holy Land on Tuesday. Paul dropped by to see me on Monday…first time I’d seen him in quite a while.

HOW’S THAT HOPEY CHANGEY?

As Linden was returning to Plainfield after a great lunch in Indianapolis, he listened to Rush Limbaugh as he drove. An item of more than a little interest was heard: the Bush budget for 2007 resulted in an annual deficit of 161 billion dollars! For comparison, the Obama spending for FEBRUARY of 2011 resulted in a deficit of 223 billion dollars!!!!

The result is, of course, the Obama deficit was 72 billion dollars more in one month than the Bush deficit was for an entire year. Are you one of those who complained long and loud about Bush and then voted for Obama? If so, you are part of this ongoing problem. By the way, $72,000,000,000.00 is roughly two hundred thirty two dollars and a quarter of additional debt for every man, woman, and child living in our country.

LINDEN’S LIFE

After breakfast and paper reading I drove to Indianapolis and met Sam for lunch. We are two parts of a four person group that began meeting about thirty years ago as a kind of birthday club. The other two members each moved to Florida years ago and both have since passed away…Bob Shelton only about a month ago. Bob was part of my baseball book writing, my song “It’s A Sometimes World” is a reminder of our time together operating a mostly unsuccessful sales business, and another song, “Frog Pond” was inspired by me trying to get his son to record the frogs in his Florida fish pond. I have the best ever friends.

IN THE WORDS OF OTHERS

It is just barely possible that Barack Obama is not the worst of the group that has ascended to the Presidential seat, but Linden would not bet on it. What is perhaps worse is the mental illness that afflicted so many of those who voted for him. Without a rational thought, they voted for and got change.

Another of a small group of Linden’s pet peeves is his belief that unemployment numbers are presented as fact yet have absolutely no correlation to the number of persons who are unemployed.

Thoughts in these two areas are presented in the first two links below.

Friday: Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 6:00. Got service above and beyond what I could have reasonably expected at Indy Ink & Toner on Highway 36 in Avon: 317-209-1818. My printer is working again.

Saturday: Men’s Breakfast meeting at Kingsway at 7:30. Stayed busy after returning home…accomplished little.

Sunday: Morning church and Sunday school services followed by brunch with friends. Kent and Donna came by in the afternoon…I was looking for a baby gift and Donna found exactly what I needed. Attended evening church services.

RESULTS OF FAILING EDUCATION

RESULTS OF FAILING EDUCATION

Linden either heard or read (or both) that 74% of the people like Obama personally but 51% do not like his policies. The man appears to be a serial liar who appears to be a total failure filling the job he was entrusted to do. His major policy thrust has been his healthcare bill that organizations by the score have been granted waivers from complying with. We won’t even discuss foreign policy!

Granted, the above percentages were provided as a result of some sort of a poll and any thinking person knows that most polls are deeply flawed for any one of several reason. They now pass for news and people like Linden write about them.

LINDEN’S LIFE

Had Thursday breakfast with Bill, Chuck, and Jack. Went by the post office, church, a healthcare facility, and a store. Spent some time later trying to get S-Corp tax forms to print…think I’ve got those for the feds to print but not yet for the state. Think the printer is a terminal case.

WRITER’S BLOCK

When one hopes to produce some sort of original thought five days a week and then present it to (hopefully) a group of readers, it is natural to see what other, more talented, writers are presenting and to become dissatisfied with your own effort. That is where Linden is today.

Good writing and presentation is offered to you in the links to articles, videos, and music below. Link one: Mob in Wisconsin, Link two: Wisconsin Governor nails Obama: Link three: liberalism defined, Link four: Sarah says, Link five: video Linden loves, and link six is to a song from the happy days (daze) of Linden’s first marriage.

LINDEN’S LIFE

Wednesday I went to get my computer printer cartridge refilled and on to the post office. Back home, the printer displayed, once again, that it really does not like me. Maybe when I try again on Thursday it will have decided to cooperate. Had a good meal and a good program regarding church planting in the evening, at church.

JAMES

Written perhaps as early as A.D. 48, this letter is to all Christians everywhere and across the centuries. It focuses on practicing Christianity.

This short book addresses an amazing number of topics and is one of the more important New Testament books.

James was murdered by the Jews shortly before the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans.

NEW SONG OF THE YEAR

NEW SONG OF THE YEAR

Pat Bauer was speaker of the Indiana House in those recent years when the democrats controlled that body. Now that Republicans have the majority in that chamber, the democrats, with Bauer still their leader, are residing in Illinois.

Linden heard “Won’t You Come Home Pat Bauer” for the first time on Monday morning while listening to the Greg Garrison radio show. It is sung to the tune of “Won’t You Come Home Bill Bailey.” It sounds really great and should be made into a video.

In the related link below, I could not get the song to play without copying and pasting the address. It is worth your time to try to listen to it if you feel as strongly about abdication of duty by the democrats as Linden does.

Did some mailing prep and went to the post office and to two stores. Accomplished various tasks on the computer. Received a good report from the Wash family who are now in Tanzania…I miss them. Also, Sam sent me a copy of his most recent “Helwigian.” It is for those who were primarily orphans staying in St. Helwig’s Orphanage in Chicago. Sam was there before his high school years. You may wish to check my donation focus for this new month which is shown below.
