No, I do not mean that my words are of high caliber…I mean the link below. Since I have hernia surgery scheduled for Thursday, August 29, this is gonna be my final posting of the week. I was on my way home from lunch in Danville, was listening to Rush Limbaugh and he read from a copy of the link below. I am only left with the question of why are we paying these perverts to “educate” our children. Now, only a couple of hours later, I think the answer may be to insist that our legislators reduce the budget of the offending institutions by the amount these people are paid. Perhaps they would get the message.

It is no secret that Linden considers Obama to be the worst President this country has had to suffer thru and, further, that he expected little good to come from either of his two elections. Linden was correct but the list linked below is more comprehensive than Linden’s memory permits him to address. How could this have happened to our once great country?

SELECTING A COLLEGE

When son Brian’s two students head for college in 2014, it is doubtful that Linden will be involved in the selection process. However, it would be a poor parent or grandparent that did not address the subject in a minor way.

Based solely upon the information contained in the Michelle Malkin article linked below, Linden is pretty certain that he would not recommend Oberlin. It appears to be headed by another one of those far left, unthinking liberals. With the employment situation being what it is for college graduates, the best course may be to select from among the lower priced (none are cheap) colleges and use the money saved to start the student in some sort of business. The liberal leanings and anti Christian stance adopted by many professors is disgraceful.

Friday brought Men’s Prayer Breakfast and I was welcomed back after missing two meetings because of my visit with Brian’s. I exchanged messages with Julie and went to a bank, the post office and by the church.

Saturday I had the good breakfast at the Avon Legion Post. I watched three televised horse races…would have lost three times if I had bet.

Sunday brought church, Sunday school, and a busy day at home. Brian called twice…think he may be overly concerned about my upcoming hernia surgery.

Met with my usual Thursday breakfast bunch and had an enjoyable time. Caught up a little in the paperwork task area. Had a long question and answer session with a very nice hospital representative and had a call from Brian telling me he was reminded of some of my reading when he was a kid…he was on Hiawatha St. in, I believe, Minneapolis.

While in Ohio visiting with my son and his family I heard some news blurbs and another one of those was, I believe, worthy of comment. It seems that a rodeo clown in Missouri had the misfortune to depict himself as an Obama clown. Despite the fact that this type of humor has been directed at several previous Presidents with no outrage, it appears to be absolutely forbidden in the liberal mind for anything remotely like criticism of Obama to take place. The usual groups are the ones without thought or humor. If it weren’t so sad, the only thing funnier (or sadder) than Obama as President are those who voted for that particular clown.

Met with the surgeon and liked her…have the surgery scheduled for the 29^th. Also had some blood drawn. My telephone was brought back to life today. I had dinner at church but didn’t stay for the program.

While in Ohio visiting with my son and his family I heard some news blurbs and one of those was, I believe, worthy of comment. It seems that Oprah Winfrey was in Switzerland and a sales clerk didn’t realize how rich Oprah was and refused to show her a $38,000.00 purse. Oprah took it as a racist put down rather than consider that she may have looked like a poor slob. Naturally, her cry of racism made the news. Reminds Linden of our President. We will not now discuss the merits of expensive purses but will say that since “white trash” is commonly used then “black trash” can hardly be considered to be a racist title if one is thinking logically.

I had a wonderful visit with my son and his family in Ohio. Returned the evening of the 19^th. My home really changed while I was gone…they are expanding the church parking lot and many trees are gone and graders are going nuts. My phone line has been cut so don’t know when that service returns. I see a surgeon on the 21^st re a probable hernia repair.

With Congress being on break and the Indiana Legislature not being in session, it seems like a good time to make suggestions to those worthy servants of ours. Other than telling them to do nothing now with the current amnesty and immigration poorly thought efforts, maybe now is a good time to think about the subject matter in the link below. Linden is a bit hesitant to repeal the income tax law even though it is badly in need of a major rewrite but, changing the law regarding the election of Senators would be, Linden believes, a very good idea. The linked article is worth reading.

JULY CHRISTIAN STUDIES

Chapter five of Ephesians remained as the study focus of our PCC Sunday sermons in July: Steve White delivered three of the sermons and Tim Gephart one of them.

Sunday school, led by John Lee, finished 1 Peter, started 2 Peter. Our early Friday morning Men’s prayer breakfast studies were led by Mike Isaacs and Steve White with Jim Meyer presenting a visitor from the Ukraine one Friday.

At our small group Thursday morning breakfast meetings, prayer and readings were given by Bill, Wayne and twice by me.

Also attended the monthly meetings at Chapel Rock CC, Kingsway CC, and the CDCMF meeting at Greenwood Christian Church.

On the last day of July I did my usual blog posting, had breakfast at Chick-fil-A, went to the post office and by Pier 14 and spent the rest of the day at home working on projects.
