If we employ crooks and shady characters to lead our country, who is at fault? It is the fault of those who choose them to lead…it can not be otherwise. Would it be wise to look beyond the hype to pick those who will move into these leadership positions? Obviously, in the mind of many voters, the answer is NO! Monday started with a trip to the post office followed by meeting Harlene for cinnamon rolls and coffee, then on to Chick-fil-A for a minute or so, then to two stores, mailed a couple of cards, corresponded with Alison and Julie, walked the greatest distance I had walked this year (still not so far), and in the evening attended a Tea Party meeting. Busy day!

Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Little else of note.

Saturday brought the Avon Legion breakfast: Sam didn’t join me this time but Marsha, the fellow judge of the oratorical contest did. Good visit, good food…also bought some chocolates.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School. Continued my in home activities. In the evening watched TV: boxing and a program about early Christianity.

COMMENTARY: OBAMACARE SUCCESS

Linden has not conducted an extensive study of the ins and outs of this much discussed burden on the taxpayer. His knowledge is pretty well guided by his memory of the way the democrats passed the bill: giving new meaning to the word, “dishonorable”. Additionally, there are frequent reports of the damage done to some individuals by this law and, less often, some person satisfied with its effect on them…usually another person is paying the freight. The article linked below was written in 2013 and does a good job of addressing the real purposes behind its passage.

Chuck sent me the first copy of these cartoons that I had seen…it seems that the quality of those shown in the link below is not too good…if you agree, you may be able to find better copies. Their message is quite good. The second linked video is a good representation of the money management skill of a spendthrift and those responsible at the federal and some state levels. COMMENTARY: APPLIES TO RFRA REPORTING?

The well written Dennis Prager article linked below pretty well reflects the thoughts of Linden: Linden, of course, has little faith in the writings that is labeled as “news” by many of those involved with guiding your thoughts. When Prager wrote “Building hysterias based on falsehoods is a primary modus operandi on the left” he could have been reading Linden’s mind. Those employed by the Indianapolis Star and their connections across the country did an excellent hatchet job on Indiana Governor Pence…never once was it easy to find an illustration of the sentences in the bill he signed that so offended the left. Perhaps there was nothing in the bill that would actually be offensive to a thinking person.

Tuesday morning I dropped off my recyclables and picked up my post office mail then joined Mary, my long ago high school classmate, for lunch at Gray’s in Mooresville. In the early evening I didn’t want anything to eat so I did not go to the Legion for dinner. Later, I ate a slice of the blueberry loaf Mary had given to me: it was GOOD.

COMMENTARY: A CONGRESSIONAL FAILURE??

Of course the amount addressed in the article linked below would have to be multiplied almost 25 times to equal one billion dollars and one billion dollars would have to be multiplied by one thousand to equal one trillion dollars but stopping the ever increasing debt load our descendents will inherit must start somewhere. May I suggest that it be started by making the National Institute of Health no longer eligible to be considered as a recipient of the baseline budgeting fiasco and, further, that their adjusted budget be further reduced by the amount wasted on this budget mismanagement project. Since this subject brought a frown to Linden’s usually peaceful face, maybe a link to a joke is in order. Thanks Mary.

COMMENTARY: THE “DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE”

In Linden’s opinion, one of the worst crimes against our country perpetrated by the Obama regime is the acceptance of and guidance provided to Eric Holder and his cohorts at The “Department Of Justice”. Their actions to guard those who would have been prosecuted by many others and their failing to enforce laws that any decent regime would enforce is unforgivable. Friday, as usual, started with the Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Later, for the first time in a long time I took a walk: probably less than a mile but I felt it in my legs. I made some good progress on pending items.

Saturday started with breakfast with the group at Kingsway. I must have left my leather jacket there: I didn’t go straight home but when I arrived, it was in my doorway. Jeff delivered it for me. I went to two stores and the post office and in the afternoon saw the play, The Lion, The witch, And The Wardrobe at the high school. Took the same short walk again today. Talked to Brian and watched some UFC matches and boxing on TV.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends. Rainy day! Talked to Brian again and listened to a lot of classical music and watched some TV.

Thursday started with breakfast with the guys: for the first time in a while Jack and Paul joined Bill, Chuck, and myself. Jack and Paul brought me a picture of the guy who had been Paul’s neighbor in Florida: he had moved there from New Hampshire and said he had voted for me in the last Presidential primary…that would make him part of a very small minority group. After picking up my post office mail I returned home and was busy there all day. I’m getting tired of this activity.

Wednesday, although I arose at 6:00 was not long enough to get it all done. First, I attended the GOP Chairman’s Breakfast at 7:00 and had good food and listened to a good presentation. Then, did some computer stuff, forgot to drop off my recyclables, went to the post office, the credit union and twice to a bank. In the evening I had dinner at the Avon Legion Post: Saturday’s Post election resulted in roughly little leadership change. Today, I ate the last of the cookies Kent brought over from Donna: they were good!

Tuesday started so slowly for Linden that he accomplished almost nothing before meeting Sam at the Milano Inn for our first Dissolution Committee meeting of the year. We may never get that birthday club dissolved. After returning to Plainfield I accomplished about as much in the remaining hours as I did in the hours before meeting Sam. My balky computer aided in this lack of accomplishment. I think Alison may have been correct when she again said that I need a new computer.

Many writings, particularly those of a political nature, are not fact based…the following could fall within that category, it was received as an uncredited E-mail:

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her
altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air
balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

Friday started with Men’s Prayer Breakfast: once again the early morning sleep interruption robbed me of energy all day. I took some info to Don, picked up my mail, did two loads of wash, corresponded with Alison, and, later, watched some boxing.

Saturday’s activities included a writers group meeting, attending Shirley Denis’ birthday celebration at church, taking Don to the Legion officer’s election, and talking to Brian. Then watched a televised horse race: I would have won if I had bet on it. Also watched some NASCAR racing and some boxing.

Sunday brought church and Sunday School attendance followed by brunch with friends. Activities around the house consumed the rest of the day.

Believe Linden when he says that he and many others find the frequent statements and actions of our President to be a clear indication that he aligns himself more with Islam than with the Christian faith. COMMENTARY: ALL POLITICS IS LOCAL?

This title is not original to Linden and is not one he necessarily agrees with. If it is true then there certainly is not much going on because there is not great ballot activity in Hendricks County Indiana. For example, there is only one contested Republican position in Plainfield. In it, Dan Bridget, a political newcomer, is running against a Town Council veteran. Dan, in Linden’s opinion, has an impressive resume and vision. So, on the first day of primary voting Linden drove to Danville and was, once again, the first person in the County to vote and he voted for Dan.

COMMENTARY: POLITICAL CORRECTNESS STINKS

In Linden’s view, being OVERLY concerned about the possibility that a personal view will be offensive to another person is a sign of well developed weakness. It is possible to have well developed beliefs and not be bashful about stating them without being inconsiderate in a nasty way. It is possible to say that our current President is the worst ever and not be racist: you would be an analyst.
